What a wonderful and emotional piece, Carol. I’ve been feeling especially vulnerable lately—not in a weak way, but more like the late stage of flourishing, when you’re about to become something you weren’t before. Sending big hugs, my friend. xo
"Each replay is a map of how far I've come. Every triumph and face plant led here – to this imperfect, glorious me. That's perspective's magic trick." I re-read this a couple of times. A great reflective essay Caroline.
What's repurposed to you is new to me, so thank you!
I too had one of those weeks... My daughter declares she has bedbugs and somehow hours away I think I can solve her potential problem, and then my dog, Roxy, is rushed to the doggy urgent care, fortunately medicine is her remedy and to conclude I had six girlfriends visit me for the weekend. To say I am exhausted is an understatement!
At least our busy lives generate lots of good material for future use. Looking forward to reading your next post!
This is one of my favourite movies, it’s like a guilty pleasure, just over the top emotion and sentiment. Streisand doesn’t do things by half..I love her for it.
I love this especially in the context of it being one iteration in the wheel: and you already having moved on from this place; from this writer. There's so much value in returning and seeing how far we've come. September is a natural time for it. All the newness and looking back, converging into this one explosive moment of possibility. I love this. And I love what you're up to here.
HOLY WOW, what a love letter!!!! 😍😍😍 This felt so damn good to read. Giving me the zoomies all over again!!! You’ve got me wanting to put on a sweatshirt and bake some pumpkin something/anything whilst surrounded by orange and yellow. One of the most beautiful texts I’ve ever read about my favorite season. Superb, Caroline.
Thank you for sharing this piece Caroline, I absolutely love it. You make everything feel so vivid and beautiful, you’re a true artist. I so appreciate the feelings your words evoke since I’ve only recently started coming around to the fall and learning to love it, and I’ll take all the cozy, warm reminders of everything that makes it such a lovely time of year. 🍂🍁🍂🍁

Oh no!! What a week?! I’m having dog troubles today — it’s always eventful!
But I really do like reworking pieces from my firsts months on substack…it’s so easy to see my growth 🤍
The Way We Were is a good movie, she’s a really good actress with lots of range (she is phenomenal in the movie Nuts).
Ahhh Nuts is so good!!
It’s very good and so is Night, Mother which she isn’t in, but it’s still a great movie.
Adding it to the list!!
Let me know what you think!

Ahhh you’re right! She never does anything half! Iconic.

It is explosive!!! And you would know 🧨
And I can only think of how vacant this experience would feel without your presence!!!
