Wow. Heavy, reflective, and powerful. I can definitely relate- I never thought of myself this way but my husband recently said to me,
“You know you don’t forgive easily?” And it’s true. I’m not quick to anger but once you hurt me or someone I love, it’s chop chop to the chopping block for you. I think it’s a way that I protect my heart and prevent myself from being vulnerable to being hurt… but it is kind of harsh sometimes. Thanks for making me think and feel- as always. ❤️🔥
Also this poem got me wondering- do you write poetry with pen and paper or digitally?
Great work, Caroline. Your poem shows the struggle of protecting others while hiding your own pain. Powerful and raw, your piece questions whether strength is truly an act of caring - or just fear of appearing weak and hurt again.
this is so well written, i love the power in your voice!
Thank you so much!!!
Asking the real questions! ❤️🔥
Thank you ☺️
Your poetry has this race to the end that always leaves me breathless!

My family has said that to me OFTEN!! And then I feel so guilty…
I would said a little bit of both. Initial ideas on paper, the full thing on my computer.
Thank you 😊 ❤️

Thank you for highlighting the pain part…I don’t know if I really noticed it before. There is pain with loathing 😊
You are one fine poetess, Caroline. Thanks for starting my Saturday with a contemplation of the executioner within. 💖

Caroline, Wow! Powerful! I love this.
Loved this. ❤️
So many of us do this,
but few admit the reality of
who holds the blade.
