Our brains must be speaking in the dark...I wrote this week about the tiny details I love noticing when I pay deep attention. Really, the magic of life. I love your list. I’ve been thinking of time as a horizontal plane, linear, duh. But also a vertical plane, dipping into eternity in this one precious second. If we let it.

This is the stuff of life!!

I like thinking of us, our brains at least, existing on the same wavelength. Your presence fills my heart ❤️

Reminds me of our cool friend Lester Burnham

Lester Burnham: [narrating] I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn't a second at all, it stretches on forever, like an ocean of time... For me, it was lying on my back at Boy Scout camp, watching falling stars... And yellow leaves, from the maple trees, that lined our street... Or my grandmother's hands, and the way her skin seemed like paper... And the first time I saw my cousin Tony's brand new Firebird... And Janie... And Janie... And... Carolyn. I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold

this has so many of your favorite things and such a lovely way to flesh out the poem which really is so simple yet demands attention i will have to go back to see where the All About Eve ready for take-off scene fits in but im sure it does just like Delilah's sweater of many colors heeeheee

looks like you had a nice walk xo

So happy for you, Caroline. This is one of the most important realities we've been given to help us survive and thrive in adversity and in calm. The world is so very full of wonder. And your phone even allows you to find and share those wonders with people you would otherwise never meet. Rejoice that you can reach out to others in ways you may not appreciate or understand but which put you in a place to share joy, sorrow, pain, or discoveries with others who may need to hear you in a personal moment. Such a treasure cannot be quantified but it is very real and is another wonder to be celebrated.

Joy, thank you for this thoughtful response. It brings me such joy (lol) that you are here! But you are absolutely right in stating that it’s complicated. I could never hate my phone or technology even though it’s my biggest distraction. It’s how I’m currently connecting to you. And I live away from the rest of my family - FaceTime is so valuable!! I’m finding that balance, day by day.

its a fairly drawn out epic thing over years but gist is they are bth young and broke and oil wild -catting in some town and fall for same girl and Tracy says something about "making something of myself" first before he can approach her i think Gable just rolls his eyes they both are married to her over years and really you start dipping deep into popcorn and nodding off but wake up periodically only to see who won lol

Appreciate the shout out! ❤️🫶❤️ we are all in need of reminders once in a while, here I am writing a comment while watching black & white films. My faves as of late was, Holiday, Sabrina, Seven chances, I married a witch.

I love all of the beautiful moments of magic you cited and the way you describe the importance of mindfulness.

May we gain and always practice the power of bringing attention inward, outward, zomming in and zooming out, holding still and holding delicately with a light grasp but not attached to the one most important thing which is life itself.

This beautiful writing truly resonates.

Much Peace Joy Love and Ease to all. 🫶🫶🫶
